UI/UX, Creative Direction, Application Design, and Web Development

On the front-line of the front-end

From analyzing the interactions between user and interface to dissecting the implementations between code and technology, I have a fascination for understanding what makes for better user experience.

Spring 2019

As of 2019, I am focusing on offering select clients consulting on building exceptional user experiences. So far this year I have built front-end foundations for applications that serve both the U.S. Air Force and the Pentagon.

Currently, I am also directing a UI/UX overhaul and the front-end development on a multi-location enterprise application for Collins Aerospace. Technologies I have been working with include Angular/Angular Material, Adobe XD, Bootstrap, GraphQL, and a plethora of other gems.

I also write on Quora on topics surrounding UI/UX and front-end development.

THE EARLY YEARS

NYC is where it began ... and what a time it was.

"New York straight talk, America's best" ...
... "If you can make it out here, you can make it anywhere" —Gang Starr

Spring of 2000 I graduated from MICA with a bachelor in graphic design. Before graduating I already had lined up my first job at the highly revered design and technology company Firstborn Multimedia.

While at Firstborn, I was involved in projects such as the website development for the pop star icon Madonna.

The internet was in its infancy and the web industry itself just begun to take shape. Flash was the technology ushering in this era. Its proliferation and widespread adoption were unprecedented, it was a game-changer on first go.

Flash brought way a creative movement. It merged animation, motion graphics, sound, and the user interface in a way never before experienced. Its creative freedom captured me. The first 10 years of my career I spent entrenched in it.

This also was the era of the internet bubble. It was an extraordinary time. The internet was unknown, nobody knew where it was going, what it would become, or how it would be used.

Years following, I worked at a number of other design and technology companies located in Baltimore and New York City. In New York City I worked at Nethod Euro (RSCG World Wide) and Sony Music. Then following, I worked in Baltimore, at Alexander and Tom, G1440, and Effective-e.
